Hurray! MS Office will be soon available in Kannada. Just happened to read it, and thought it should warm the cockles of all Kannadigas, who are in the midst of celebration of Suvarna Sambhrama. Will be nice to hear mymysore members' immediate response to the spinoffs of this development. MS Office will also be available in all the other 13 languages which enjoy the status as official language.

Interesting indeed. Where did you hear about this news? It may help in that since most letters to the Government and even the MCC has to be written in Kannada. Used to look for kannada typewriting service before, for writing letters to the MCC. Can do the same on your laptop now, huh? Other than letter writing, what other practical applications can be achieved by having MS office in Kannada? Rather limited usage, would'nt you think?

Did a Google search on Mr Virendra Rao's info., and found a link that talks about a Microsoft announcement, in Nov. 2004, regarding  MS Office '03 in Kannada. Is Mr Rao talking of any update on this ?

Maybe Mr Rao would like to highlight the features that have been added to MS Office 2003 Kannada version. I wasn't able to access the link given, as it was not story specific.

It is not Office 2003, about which we have read. It is Office 2007. Here is the link:

Thanks, Mr Vijendra Rao, for that link. One would like to know from someone who e-communicates in Kannada, (Mr K R Nataraj), how the 2007 edition works better for him.

And spread of awareness about the latest tech. info relating to use of Kannada ought to trigger someone to think in terms of starting a Kannada version of MyMysore.com.
