Infosys has taken up a programme for training 100 students from China at its global education centre, Mysore. The company has recruited teachers from the Chinese Language School at Tangra, Kolkata. The school is run by the Indian Chinese Association for the benefit of Indians of Chinese origin in Kolkata. The city's population includes 5000 Chinese Indians. The Tangra Chinese school has had rising demand for teachers from Indian software and other companies that have set up units in Shanghai and other towns in China. This has opened up fresh job opportunities by way of interpretation and liaison work for Kolkata's Indian Chinese. -- Ranjita Biswas, Inter Press Service News Agency
