The Mysore police plans to introduce the e-beat system, on the Bangalore pattern. Beat constables on night patrolling carry an electronic chip card to be swiped at a reader installed in each of the 1600 beat points. The electronic reader clocks in the time and frequency of the presence of beat constable at every location. The city has 16 police stations, and every two-man team on night-patrol has jurisdiction over 10 beat points. - media report quoting police commissioner Praveen Sood.
